Vehicle Tracking
Your car is an integral part of your life. You use it every day, you rely on it and you are very proud of it. Of course, you want to hold on to it, so you make sure it has the latest alarm and immobiliser. But despite all this, cars like yours are still stolen on an all too frequent basis. In fact, in this country, over 1,200 cars are stolen every day, that’s about one every minute! And if your car is stolen, you only have a 50:50 chance of ever seeing it again. Now that is alarming.
The key to successful recovery is speed.
The Tracking system is installed in such a way that it integrates with the car's existing immobiliser system. Immobiliser systems are designed to recognise signals sent from a transponder located inside the ignition key: consequently modern cars shouldn't start unless the correct key is used.
However, despite innovations, such as 'rolling code' immobilisers, which change their codes every time the car is locked, thieves still manage to bypass such systems.
Via sophisticated motion sensors our tracking systems can recognises if a vehicle has moved illegally, and will immediately alert the National Control Centre. These alerts continue every 20 seconds until the vehicle is recovered
The Control Centre will check with the owner to verify if the vehicle has been stolen. The owner then has to obtain a crime reference number, which gives them the authority to work directly with the police.
The National Control Centre is manned 24 hours a day every day of the year, and will be on hand to update the police with the vehicle's location throughout the entire vehicle track. Upon receipt of this information the police are able to locate the vehicle and in many cases apprehend the thief.
